A trip to the heaven on Earth: Kashmir 6 years ago, I visited Kashmir, as soon as my class 8 exams got over, with my family and my close family friends.  Even after so many years, the memories from the trip to heaven on earth are still fresh on my mind and this unique experience is something that I’ll cherish forever.   Kashmir has always been in news due to the tension at the border and the very idea of visiting the place made me nervous, but deep down, I was excited too. All our bookings were done through a travel agency, prior to our journey, because of which our journey turned out to be hustle free. Our flight was from Trivandrum to Srinagar via Delhi and the journey seemed never-ending as I couldn’t wait to set my foot on Kashmir. It felt like ages before we finally reached the place. Lord Shiva, the Trishul and me.

Scene.1 -A garden in the middle of a bustling city. -Midday. -A Trishul seen lying on the shade of a tree. -I, wandering about aimlessly, happen to see the Trishul, stare at it for some time, go near, bend down towards the Trishul, pay respect and sit beside it, hands folded into a ‘Namaste’ posture. Me : Jai Trishul The Trishul opens an eye on the left hand of spear lazily, stares at me for a moment and closes it again. Trishul : Why are you troubling me here? Me : Troubling? I wanted to offer prayer to you. But how come you are here? Aren’t you supposed to be in the Shiva temple? Trishul : I’m damn tired standing under the hot sun the whole day.
